Andy Russell

Andy is an award winning, self taught artist who has been painting in his unique “ Extended Realism “ style since 1975. The images were originally derived from his dreams. They have now evolved to include his imaginings and actual places but are all portrayed in his perfect, serene, dream world way. He works in acrylics using a glazing technique of transparent layers to give a vibrancy and luminosity.

Today Andy is a Signature Member of the International Society of Acrylic Painters (ISAP) and is an Exhibiting Member of The Buffalo Society of Artists. He has created over 2,000 originals and tens of thousands of reproductions. His work is well represented in corporate and private collections in the United States and abroad. They include GTE, Aero Instruments and Avionics, Castellani Art Museum of Niagara University, General Motors, celebrity artist Peter Max, Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo (Kaleida Health Group), Rosewell Park Cancer Institute, and Western Psychiatric Institute & Clinic, Pittsburgh, Pa.

He licenses his images, which are sold worldwide, for such products as puzzles, bank checks, solar powered globes, calendars, wall murals , diamond paintings and cross stitch.

Andy’s work is constantly evolving, yet always hanging on to that dream like quality. If asked how he feels about his paintings, he would reply, “ My dreams have definitely come true! “
